Engaged in a 9-month role supported by the Research & Scholarship grant, contributing to significant departmental initiatives.
Supported instructors with Anti-racism, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (ADEI) projects, enhancing educational outcomes and promoting inclusivity.
Conducted extensive research and successfully applied for grants to support departmental initiatives such as poverty simulations, dual enrollment programs, and the acquisition of new technological equipment.
Collaborated in the co-writing and editing of scholarly publications and presentations for the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE), focusing on critical issues such as the unique challenges faced by African American social workers, rural social work ethics, and LGBTQ adoption barriers.
Transitioned departmental research surveys to Qualtrics, demonstrating proficiency in data collection and analysis tools.
Gained valuable experience in academic research, grant writing, and project management within a team-oriented environment.
Presented the Academic Research/Writing segment during the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) Program Orientation.
Collaborated with faculty to assist in assembling the final report for the grant program.
Conducted extensive literature reviews and compiled reports on critical program facets such as Second Chance Re-entry Initiatives, support strategies for Children of Incarcerated Parents, Nurturing Families frameworks, Positive Parenting practices, Trauma-Informed Care approaches, the Impact of COVID-19 on prison populations, and therapeutic interventions including Individual and Family Therapy.
Analyzed and summarized findings on evaluation tools such as the Adult-Adolescent Parenting Inventory (AAPI-2) and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) for effective measurement and program assessment.
